We took the train from Geneva at 23:?? Thursday evening. We reached Visp at 1:39. We spent a very comfortable night on the benches on the platform of the train to Zermatt, until 06 in the morning (the train-traffic towards Zermatt [cargo] started at about 4 am, and these trains just passed by about 1 m from our heads - a comfortable night). We reached Täsch by hitchike, and from there we took the train to Zermatt. On this day we went up to the Monte Rosa Hütte (during this trip, when having lunch, we simply fell asleep - the drawback of the previous night). We put up our tent somewhat above the Monte Rosa Hütte, and went to sleep at about 22:00, and slept until almost 10 am next day, as a small compensation for the previous night on the railway station. On Saturday we went up to about 3600 meters, and slept on the snow, at a relatively flat place. Sunday we started at 02:30, and since everybody else started from the hut, we had a very pleasant and lonely walk. We had some difficulties when reaching the stony ridge before the top: it was still before sunrise, and we needed a strong phantasy to figure out in the darkness, where exactly the path goes. Two climbers arrived to the top soon, and after a short pause and making photos we started back. We reached our tent at 3600 meters in one go. After a lunch and packing everything together we went down to Zermatt with practically no major stop, descending about 3100 meters that day. We took the 19:45 train to Täsch, and calculated happily, that we will easily reach the last bus in Geneva to go home. There was only one failure in our calculation: there were no more trains from Täsch to Visp. Fortunately there was a last bus at 21:40, which stopped at every tree. It was clear that the last bus will have gone by the time we reach Geneva, so we figured out some other solutions, how to go home from Geneva, or where to sleep. These ideas were probably very good, but we could never test them: when we reached Visp, there were no more trains to Geneva, so we had to spend one more night at the railwaystation (everyone had alredy his own bench to sleep on). The first train to Geneva started at 04:18 Monday morning. After a shower and breakfast at home I went to work. This day was not too effective, though ...
